In 1992 the Louisiana Legislature authorized the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections to issue special prestige motor license plates bearing the marks of participating Louisiana universities.
The LSU Tiger Plate is available to any citizen of Louisiana for all non-commercial cars, trucks and motor homes.Plates may be applied for through the Special/Dealer License Plate Unit, Office of Motor Vehicles, Department of Public Safety and Corrections, P.O. Box 64886, Baton Rouge, LA 70896-4886 or call (225) 925-6371, website: www.expresslane.org for information.
Cost of the plate is $26.00, every year, in addition to regular fees. The University receives $25.00 from each plate, which is designated toward academic and financial need scholarships. |
