Fall 2009 Event Details
This fall, LSU Career Services will include graduate and professional schools in a special zone at the Career Expo, to be held Wednesday, September 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. We will not host a separate Graduate & Professional School Fair because we think this new structure will allow you to be highlighted in a “fair within a fair” and partner you with more students—the Career Expo typically draws approximately 2,000 students and alumni.
The results of our fall 2008 Graduating Student Survey show that 19 percent of graduates planned to attend graduate or professional school full or part time immediately following graduation. Many others may have plans to pursue post-baccalaureate education later. We know that, nationwide, graduate and professional schools are seeing growing applicant pools, and we want you to know that interest is high on our campus.
Another Opportunity to Promote Your Program
You may also be interested in a new opportunity with a quickly approaching deadline. For just $350, your organization can be recognized as a page supporter in our 2009-10 Job Search Handbook, our most referenced resource for upperclassmen. The handbook includes information about choosing post-baccalaureate programs and writing statements of purpose. The 2009-10 edition will also include our internally developed Grad/Professional School Timeline. During the 2009-10 school year, we’ll distribute 4,000 print copies and will post the handbook online for 24/7 access by students and alumni. The ad reservation deadline is May 15.
